“Man in the Moon” is about broken relationships, two opposite worlds, Emily's and Lincoln's, her son.

Emily is a farmer, a very strong woman who works hard trying to keep her family together. But she is also a sensitive person and loves her son. I created for her an environment with dark navy tones, that evokes a masculinity representing her role as father in Lincoln’s life. But there are also soft pinks and skin tones that represent her love as a mother and her femininity. Earthy textures like ceramics, wood, dough, etc., surround her world to show the connection and the relation she has with nature.

Lincoln’s world on the other hand, is full of technology. It is cold and disconnected made of plastics and metals. His world is surrounded with pieces, parts of puzzles that suggest there is something he is trying to put together. He doesn’t interact with the outside world. His room is full of electronics, tools and mess, while he spends most of his time playing video games.
